No traditional Japanese foodstuff has had quite the impact on date night that sushi has. While its history in the U.S. dates back over 100 years, it’s only become a staple of “dinner and a movie” evenings over the last couple of decades. Consider making a reservation to Little Fox Kitchen instead of your favorite local sushi joint, and learn how to roll and prepare your own sushi.

A chef instructor demonstrates proper rice preparation and sushi dressing, educates the class on proper assembly, rolling, and shaping techniques, and exhibits and discusses sushi etiquette during the class. Experiment with different styles of sushi including hosomaki (thin rolls), uramaki (inside-out roll), futomaki (fat rolls), nigirizushi (hand-pressed sushi), and temarizushi (ball sushi). Fillings include shrimp (ebi), tuna, salmon, tobiko (flying fish roe), cucumber, Japanese mayo, and kani (imitation crab).
